Home Comfort and Energy Assessment — GreenHomes begins the HPC process with a comprehensive assessment, performed by a trained and BPI-certified advisor. The assessment pinpoints sources of high energy consumption and health and comfort issues such as air leaks, insufficient insulation, moisture, defective ducts, gas leaks, ventilation, and inefficient lighting and appliances. The assessment data is analyzed and a report generated to determine your home's optimum performance, options and costs for a customized solution, as well as predicted energy savings and guarantees.

Air-Sealing — Most homes are poorly sealed and have air infiltration and exfiltration problems. GreenHomes thoroughly seals all cracks, crevices and holes in the interior and exterior of the home, including recessed lights that allow conditioned air to escape into the attic during the heating season and hot, unconditioned air to infiltrate in from the attic during the cooling season.

Insulation — Many homes are poorly insulated or missing insulation entirely. GreenHomes adds high quality, dense-packed cellulose insulation in walls and attic space to ensure the home has a strong thermal envelope.

Solar PV— GreenHomes offers custom solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions specifically designed for your home and energy needs. Heating and Cooling Equipment Service and Replacement — GreenHomes evaluates the operating condition of all heating and cooling equipment in the home, including an inspection of the integrity of the heat exchanger using a fiber-optic infrared camera. When appropriate, GreenHomes will install new, properly-sized high-efficiency equipment. Often, because of the overall improvements to the efficiency of the home’s thermal envelope, the equipment installed is smaller, saving even more money on annual heating and cooling bills. Additionally, a smaller, properly sized system cycles on and off less often which improves comfort.

Indoor Air Quality — Air-sealing can help reduce outdoor air pollutants and building material off-gasses carried into the home through basements, wall cavities, and attics. After reducing the sources of pollutants through HPC, the next step is to properly manage the ventilation in the indoor space.
