The John Betlem family is pleased to announce a milestone – John Betlem Heating & Cooling, Inc. is celebrating 75 years of meeting the home comfort needs of the Rochester, N.Y. area. The company, which was started in the 1940s by John Betlem and spans three generations, has grown to serve the city of Rochester, Monroe County and the surrounding areas.
Currently, John Betlem Heating & Cooling caters primarily to the residential market, with around 10 percent of their customers being light commercial. They focus mainly on replacement of pre-existing units as opposed to new construction. The company currently employs 48 and operates a fleet of 34 vehicles. Technicians are highly trained at the John Betlem Institute, an on-site educational center that provides apprenticeship training. Robert Betlem owns John Betlem Heating & Cooling, and his children Kathy, David, Steven, and Jim, as well as cousins Jim Lytle and Darryl Fishbaugh, are all a part of the company’s leadership committee.

The electrical division is brand new. But, incredible service today. Terry Smith and his electrician crew (especially Mikey) got service quickly restored after a tree limb fell onto the garage and took down the electric wires. Wow! Quality service! Courteous! Impressive addition to the John Betlem service team.
The customer service representatives are simply the most polite, friendly, and professional individuals. Cindy was excellent and helped schedule my yearly cleaning as well as my father's who is a senior citizen. She offered the advantage program which will potentially save my father who is on a fixed income thousand of dollars. Thank You Cindy and Thank You John Betlem. The customer service is best in class.
We just moved to Ontario area and had to find a contractor to service our hot water heater. I called a competitor and it was a no call no show. Then called John Betlem customer service, explained my situation and desperate to have hot water, was able to get me an appointment that day. Mike, technician, showed up timely, was polite and courteous. He was able to diagnose and repair the heater in no time. I will definitely be a long term customer and highly recommend John Betlem to friends or family.
